Need help getting started? Here is a quick guide to using CYBERTYPER:

Check Your Level: If you are new, start with the Speed Typing Test. It will give you a clear idea of your current typing speed and accuracy.
Play to Learn: To make practice fun, choose any of our fast typing games. You can fight off asteroids or enter a typing race against bot. Just type the words you see on the screen as quickly as possible!
Sound Settings: We use cool web audio effects to make typing fun. You can easily turn the sound on or off by clicking the speaker icon (🔊) at the top of the page.
Save Your High Scores: Your settings and high scores are saved locally on your browser. So keep playing and try to beat your own high score!

⚡ Speed Typing Test

Benchmark Mode

Type the highlighted passage as accurately and fluidly as possible.
Green characters indicate correct entries; red highlights signal typos that need correction.
A full analytical scorecard will display upon passage completion (WPM, Accuracy, Duration, Errors).

Scoring / Metric: Live Net WPM & Accuracy %

Controls: Full Alphanumeric Keyboard

Pro Tip: Don't rush to burst type! Maintaining a calm, uninterrupted rhythmic cadence produces substantially higher WPM than fast typing plagued by backspace pauses.

🌧️ Falling Words

Arcade Defense

Words plunge downwards from digital orbit towards the defense barrier.
Type the first character of any falling word to lock your plasma cannons onto it.
Complete the remaining characters in sequence to trigger an explosive particle burst.
You have 3 shields (lives). If a word impacts the shield line, you lose one life.

Scoring: Word length x Wave Level multiplier

Threat Level: Speed and frequency increase per wave

Pro Tip: Always prioritize words closest to the bottom barrier, even if a new word spawns higher up. Survival comes before combo points!

🏎️ Typing Race vs Bot

Grand Prix Versus

Watch the countdown lights (3-2-1-GO) and rev your fingers.
Type the race sentence without errors to accelerate your neon supercar down the drag strip.
The AI bot car travels at an unyielding 40 WPM cruise speed. Overtake it before the checkered flag!
Record your victory call-sign in the Top 5 Hall of Fame leaderboard.

Persistence: Saves Top 5 rank in browser

Pro Tip: One typo can cost you pole position! If you make a mistake, hit Backspace immediately to keep engine momentum.

☄️ Falling Asteroids

1-Hit Instant Loss

Meteors plummet towards your orbital fighter ship. Word length dictates asteroid dimensions:
- Short (2-4 letters): Small, rapid meteors.
- Medium (5-7 letters): Mid-sized balanced rocks.
- Long (8+ letters): Giant asteroids with high score bounties.
Your fighter ship automatically aims cannons and fires laser beams at the locked target.
Zero Shield Rule: If even a single asteroid strikes your ship or crosses the perimeter, instant destruction occurs!

Scoring: Word Length x 25 x Sector Wave

Lives: 0 (Instant Game Over on collision)

Pro Tip: If you accidentally lock onto a massive 10-letter asteroid while a small rock is about to hit your ship, tap Backspace to drop the lock and target the immediate threat!

💡 5 Practical Typing Tips

Master the Home Row Anchor: Place left fingers on A-S-D-F and right fingers on J-K-L-;. Feel the tactile nubs on F and J without looking down.
Accuracy Over Raw Speed: Typing at 50 WPM with 100% accuracy is much faster than typing at 80 WPM with constant typos and backspace corrections.
Look at the Screen, Not Hands: Force your brain to form spatial neuromuscular memory. Your subconscious will map key distances faster than your eyes can.
Ergonomic Posture: Keep your back straight, feet flat on the floor, and wrists floating gently above the desk rather than resting heavily on edges.
Practice Daily in Short Bursts: 10 to 15 minutes of focused daily arcade practice is far superior to an exhausting two-hour session once a week.

🛠️ Troubleshooting Common Issues

🔇 No Sound Playing

Fix: Click anywhere on the webpage or press any key. Modern browsers disable sound until user interaction. Also ensure the top-right sound icon displays 🔊 (not 🔇).

⌨️ Game Not Responding to Keys

Fix: The canvas might have lost focus. Click directly inside the game canvas or the typing input bar to reactivate keyboard listening.

📱 Virtual Keyboard Not Opening

Fix: Tap the illuminated input field directly below the game arena (labeled "Type here..."). On mobile browsers, direct taps on text inputs guarantee keyboard focus.

💾 High Scores Missing

Fix: Scores are stored in your device's localStorage. Make sure you are not in Private/Incognito mode and have not recently cleared your browser site data.

🚀 Frame Drops / Lag

Fix: Enable "Hardware Acceleration" in your browser settings and close resource-heavy background tabs (e.g. video rendering or 4K streams).

🌐 Offline Play

Fix: CYBERTYPER has zero external CDN dependencies! Once loaded, games run fully offline in your browser cache.
